Counting the Omer

49 Days of Spiritual Transformation
From Pesach to Shavuot · April 3 – May 22, 2026

What Is the Counting of the Omer?

Time to lace up your running shoes! The Omer is a cosmic purification marathon. Kabbalah teaches us that during these 49 days following Pesach, we must take great care to rid ourselves of all negative influences in every area of our lives.

Pesach was a "free" connection — the Light of freedom was given to us without any effort. The Omer is the work we do to earn the Light of Pesach and Shavuot. Throughout these seven weeks, we have the opportunity to break the klipot (negative shells) within our being, releasing the Light that became trapped because of our own choices. Yes, the extraction process can be painful. But the benefits of releasing these sparks of Light are well worth it.

Each night of counting takes us through a Gate of Purity. There are 50 Gates of Purity and 50 Gates of Impurity — at every moment, we are ascending through one or descending through the other. The Kabbalist Rav Avraham Azulai teaches that passing through a single gate would normally require 8 consecutive days of pure spiritual work. The Counting of the Omer compresses this process: each night we count elevates us through an entire gate in just a few minutes.

Each day counted equals ~8 days of spiritual work.
By reaching Shavuot, we attain the 50th Gate — the energy of immortality.

For each of the 49 days, there is a unique combination of two sefirot — and a specific consciousness practice, like a daily recipe for the soul. Each day is an opportunity to correct a different part of our being.

About Thiago Moshe

All the consciousness and wisdom I share here was not compiled or created by me — it was passed down to me by the Kabbalah Centre. Everything I transmit comes from the lineage of our teachers: Rav Ashlag, Rav Brandwein, Rav Berg, Michael Berg, Monica Berg, and Karen Berg — and from this entire chain of wisdom.

I have been studying Kabbalah at the Kabbalah Centre since 2009, not as theory, but as living wisdom, applied to daily life, to choices, and to real challenges.

Over these years, Kabbalah has become for me a map of consciousness — a practical way to understand the ego, free will, spiritual responsibility, and the ongoing process of inner transformation.

My path of study is deeply influenced by the teachings of the contemporary Kabbalistic lineage of the Kabbalah Centre, with a focus on the practical application of wisdom, expanding the Vessel, and developing consciousness above reaction.

Kabbalistic Insights was born from this journey.

Not as a place of ready-made answers, but as a space for reflection, study, and practice, where each text is an invitation to inner observation and conscious choice.

I believe that true transformation happens when a person:

  • takes responsibility for their own consciousness
  • learns to recognize the patterns of the ego
  • chooses, day after day, to respond with more love, clarity, and intention

This site is a meeting ground between study and life.

A space to pause, reread, reflect — and keep walking with greater consciousness.

I am so glad to have you here.
